2011 – Expect big things from Van Walt

January 5, 2011

Firstly, a Happy New Year to all our customers and suppliers, thank you for your valued support, it is your continued custom that sustains us and allows us to develop and grow. Secondly, it may have been the holiday period but we’ve been busy preparing for 2011 – our plans are ambitious and, because many of the initiatives will affect you, we wanted to give you a brief preview of what you can expect from Van Walt during the year.

New equipment: we are constantly looking at changes in our industry and developments to equipment. As a result in 2011 we are delighted to be offering some new Water Quality Meters from Aquaread, an award winning British manufacturer of multiparameter water quality test equipment which is designed for use in the field. In addition, we will be supplying a new, compatible telemetry system; passive skimmers and updated Water Level Meters and Bladder Pumps. This month Vincent and Tom are visiting the 2011 North American Environmental Field Conference and Exposition in San Diego, California where they will learn about the latest cutting-edge environmental field technologies that can be applied to solving new and existing environmental problems.

Developments to our website: as you know we are continually working on our website, updating equipment films, adding blogs and improving the functionality. This year we plan to enhance the navigation on the site, introducing new menu options and adding collateral to the core applications we supply equipment for. We think this will make it easier to find what you need and you’ll be able to access detailed information, if you want it, which will help you decide if the equipment is right for you. Also, we will be adding mobile apps and ensuring our site is compatible for mobile devices – you can get to us wherever and whenever you need to!

Invaluable information: in 2011 we have committed to label all non-sales information as Technical Updates so you can easily recognise it as useful and valuable to your work. We plan to add more equipment films to our library and practical technical information relevant to the work you do.

Training: you can access training from Van Walt in several ways! Our CIWEM accredited Practical Fieldwork Theory & Techniques Training Course will run in March, June and October this year. Costs have been held at 2010 prices and places are limited. To book online visit https://www.vanwalt.com/training-auger-water-level-environmental.php or call us. Additionally we are preparing more and more bespoke training courses for organisations and consultancies. These have been or can be delivered at our premises in Haslemere, Surrey or at our customers’ sites. They can be tailored to your unique requirements and have proved to represent excellent value in terms of time away from the office and the number of delegates we can accommodate. For those customers who know us you will be familiar with our service when it comes to training and technical support by phone, online and even in the field – we like nothing better than going onsite with a piece of our equipment – rental or sale – and lending a hand to solve any issues you may have on a project or job!

Rental: in the current economic climate we believe that equipment rental or hire is the way forward. We make no apology for the fact we will be plugging this point time and time and time again in 2011. Rent or hire – whatever you prefer – we will keep trying to convert those of you who have never used this option, to give it a try! We will continue to add more items to our fleet and we believe we now have the most comprehensive selection of environmental monitoring equipment for rent/hire in the UK. Resist no more – give us a try!
