We’re no stranger to a demo, and for the last 40 plus years Van Walt has travelled to countries far and wide for our window sampling demonstrations and training events. We must have carried out training in at least 5 of the 7 continents, with our most recent one in South Africa
David and Charl visited the North-West University in Johannesburg to show our, or should we say, their new percussion window sampling system in action.
The window samplers, usually 100cm long and in varying diameters are driven in using a percussive hammer. They are robust, easy to use and above all they are non destructive which means that it leaves no visual impact on the site.
Typically the sets are used to profile to depths of between 7-8m, and there is an option to capture the profile in a liner for easy transportation back to the laboratory.
The training is an integral part of the after sales of the window sampling kit. They ensure the correct use of equipment to prevent any potential equipment damages, practicing of good techniques to get the best out of the kit, and training to cover health and safety protocols and RAMS. A certificate is presented to each of the operators to show they have been trained on all former points.
Well done to our South African team for organising a great training session and thank you to the North-West University for inviting David and Charl to site.
