Two flow solutions, three systems, one network! David and Max installed a StarFlow QSD flow meter with our data collection equipment as well as installing a further two 50 l/s flumes. The StarFlow measures temperature, depth and velocity of the channel, whilst the flumes measure the water flow from the entrance of the weir.
Each flume has a high precision surface level sensor which is installed within the flumes stilling well, and a calculation is added within the portal vanwaltCONNECT to determine flow rates.
One of the biggest challenges of this project was working with the heavy peat. We were very appreciative of the farmer who helped with his digger!
