To implement a remote monitoring network of water level, soil moisture and rain gauge sensors to monitor the watercourse of flow from nine locations within three sites over the course of 3 years. The requirement was for measurements to be taken every 5 minutes.
The window of installation was limited due to access constraints of some of the locations. Additionally equipment needed to be installed before the wet autumn and winter months set in to avoid flooded zones.

Following our requirements gathering and site visit, a network of our radio frequency devices, powered by AA batteries, would be installed. There was a mixture of devices to be installed both below and above ground. Each device would be connected to its own sensor, including water level sensors, soil moisture sensors and rain gauges. An additional battery pack was added to support the increased logging frequency of 5 minutes. Equipped with a comms device, our customer can interrogate the devices from within a range of up to 10km line of sight.
