To collect environmental and meteorological data in order to maintain and improve, where possible, a good balance between the provision of adequate water supply while minimising the impact on the ecology of the Kent marshes.
The installation and commissioning of Van Walt’s environmental Data Collection Telemetry equipment to measure water level, EC and meteorological data (ambient temperature, precipitation, relative humidity, evaporation) in 41 different locations across a 5000-acre site. For the most effective and cost-effective solution just three DataHubs were positioned to collect the data by radio frequency from 38 DataSlaves sited around the landscape. Van Walt provided full installation, including drilling monitoring wells and the erection of protective, livestock fencing around the equipment. Now valuable data is streaming in, every 30 minutes to all the stakeholders in this project. Additional monitoring points are planned for the installation in the future.
