There’s no ‘i’ in TEAM – but there is in WINNER!

Competitive – Moi! Too right!! Last weekend was the annual Van Walt team building event and thankfully the sun shone all day for us as, once again, we were forced out of our ‘comfort zones’ and enjoyed quad biking, hovercraft racing, mud buggies, clay pigeon shooting and archery. We divided up into two teams: ‘4 blokes & a Ginger’ and the ‘Van Divas’ and although the Van Walt ladies did excel in some of the activities (well done Amanda – top shot with the rifle – watch out all you customers who don’t pay your invoices on time!) and Yvonne (the fastest ‘broad’ in a buggy) who recorded the quickest lap in the Mud Buggies – the girls proved to be ‘softies’ when it came to speed and steering (who put that tree there?) on quad bikes and strength with a bow and arrow! And there was no doubt the boys and Jess were real petrol-heads with any activity that involved accelerators and throttles! The Van Divas

But looking out for one another, working tactically to make sure we all had fun and getting everyone through it – in one piece – quite an achievement!

The weekend set us up well for our annual ISO inspection and we’re proud to say we passed with flying colours. A team effort across the disciplines to secure our continued affiliation and confirmation that our values of excellence, friendliness, fairness, consistency, justness, respect, honesty and trustworthiness were in evidence in all our dealings with our customers, suppliers and stakeholders.

Now the challenge – keep up the good work and definitely cup cake decorating and salsa dancing next year!
