Autumn to Spring in 24 hours

April 25, 2010

I’ve done the trip to the antipodes many times but never at this precise time of the year. The juxtaposition of autumn leaves and wild primroses within a day is a mind game the effect of which I’m apparently not genetically programmed to cope with easily. The mind expects the leaves to fall off the tree but instead they bud up and form flowers. Weird or what? Or have I fallen prey to the fantasies of Avatar?
