Ekman Dredge

Ekman Dredge soft sediment sampler. Sediments must be free from debris and plant growth. Takes a disturbed sample from very soft top layers. Spring loaded jaws prevent loss of material therefore you must ensure no small stones or stalks prevent the closure of grab and so loss of your sample.

Advantages

A sample can be viewed through an opening in the top before the sample is retrieved. The 3.5 litre sampler comes complete with synthetic line to reach a depth of 30m.

  • For use in soft sediment
  • Two thin hinging flaps are open while the grab is lowered
  • Flaps close when a drop-weight is dropped (cable operated) or a button is pressed (rod operated)
  • The flaps overlap on closing to prevent the loss of the sample
  • Stainless steel construction;
  • Equipped with drop-weight system so that sampling can be carried out at any depth
