Liverpool - Capital of Culture and more...

Van Walt, as a supplier of field equipment, is delighted to support the Department of Geography at the University of Liverpool who are this year's hosts of the Quaternary Research Association Postgraduate Symposium from 19th to 22nd August 2008. This conference is attended by approximately 50 postgraduate PhD/MSc. delegates and will address a variety of subject areas, including climate change (both past and future), our increasingly unstable ice caps and changes in vegetation and its effects on biodiversity - to name but a few.

Our sponsorship brings the cost of the conference down (this is a non-profit conference) and we hope this will help to attract a diverse range of international postgraduate researchers to attend and discuss these important issues.

There will be a dedicated website and a book of abstracts from the conference. Look out for more details in future issues of Water Chestnuts.
