Laura, our new girl and Yvonne, (our not-so-new girl – more than 18 years environmental research experience) recently attended a Distributors Seminar at Eijklekamp in Holland. The event was to give representatives from around the world a product update, some first hand training on new and less well known equipment, in addition to some ‘old favourites’ and provide an introduction to the Product Knowledge Database (PKD), an invaluable resource for distributors and customers alike.
The PKD gives detailed product information including dimensions, where it can be used and what the item can be used for. For most pieces of equipment it details how to use it, equipment applications, what training is available, fact sheets and much more. For anyone interested in finding or using a piece of environmental equipment it is the definitive guide.
In terms of the equipment training Laura said: “Going to Holland to meet the people I regularly talk to on the phone; seeing, using and being trained on the equipment was incredible. While Yvonne looked at some of the newer, more specialist equipment I had training on augering, peat sampling, telemetry and water permeability. It has given me even more confidence when I answer the phone to our customers. Now, if anyone asks me a question I don’t feel so ‘blonde’. I have a much better understanding of what equipment they might need and, if I can’t help, I know who can and transfer them quickly.”
