Geotech Environmental Inc, Denver, Colorado is one of Van Walt's key suppliers. As a company they are constantly developing new and improved equipment so, as part of our on-going commitment to work closely with our key suppliers, we felt it was time to visit again to see for ourselves the latest equipment that's available for our customers.

Tom, Rental Sales & Technical Support and Tracey, Marketing took up the challenge - Denver is not a destination for a weekend!

Geotech have recently moved into state-of-the-art premises where they manufacture one of the largest ranges of environmental equipment in the world. We were interested to see their market leading pumps, meters, PIDS and remediation equipment. Our aim - to expand our rental fleet and learn more about remediation equipment for product recovery or removal, in soils and fluids - watch this space.

As a result of the trip one item has already been added to our rentals range, the Auto-Reclaimer - a completely self-contained pneumatic pump. It will:

• operate independently of a controller
• purge or remediate up to depths of 75m
• is designed to pump product and suspended solids in liquids
• will withstand highly corrosive sites such as landfills and mines
• is available in two sizes (42mm and 90mm).

Denver seemed a long way to go but seeing and feeling the quality; understanding the production process and establishing real, tangible contacts with the people who design, make and deliver the products was invaluable and we have seen - with our own eyes - what we believe is some of the best equipment available. Plus, we did manage to squeeze in a few hours skiing - it would have been churlish not too!
