How seriously should you take the risk of flooding?
Well according to Sir Michael Pitt, on behalf of the Government, we should all be taking the risk of flooding far more seriously.
Sir Michael will soon publish his recommendations on what lessons should be learned from the unprecedented flooding last summer when more than 7,000 people were rescued from flood waters by the emergency services. He is calling for a system of public monitoring to be introduced.
Why is Van Walt so interested in the findings? We believe our recently introduced e+WATER L system could form part of the solution. It is an off-the-shelf, plug and play, early warning flood alert system which provides an alarm direct to a PC or designated mobile telephone. If used by a local authority the early warning alarm could provide local residents with more time to better prepare and protect themselves against an imminent flood.
