How seriously should you take the risk of flooding?

Well according to Sir Michael Pitt, on behalf of the Government, we should all be taking the risk of flooding far more seriously.

Sir Michael will soon publish his recommendations on what lessons should be learned from the unprecedented flooding last summer when more than 7,000 people were rescued from flood waters by the emergency services. He is calling for a system of public monitoring to be introduced.

Renting remediation, soil and groundwater monitoring equipment is a growing part of our business - but we want to get better. So we recently sent, to all our rental customers, a questionnaire asking for feedback on our rental product range and service. We were delighted with the number and quality of the responses - highlighting the positives and some areas where there is 'room for improvement'.

Are you inspired?

Well we are! Yvonne and Vincent recently attended Inspirational Leadership Training in Leeds, run by LDL - a specialist in getting people to outperform themselves. "I wasn't really sure what to expect," confesses Yvonne. "But we gained some real understanding and techniques for building confidence and self-belief in people; connecting personal goals to business goals and how to inspire creativity and innovation within a team."

Eire is a very important market to us - that's why we have recently spent and will continue to spend time visiting our customers there. Just because it's 'over-the-water' and some sales are in a different currency - each and every customer is crucial to us and it's our aim to foster a relationship that is the same as if they were next door.
