'Thanks' for choosing us!
In recognition of a major milestone for us and to thank our customers we recently gave away two theatre tickets to Laura Newsome of URS Corporation Ltd in Manchester to see the World premiere of All About My Mother, with Dame Diana Rigg at the Old Vic in London; plus return rail tickets to London, overnight accommodation and breakfast in the prestigious Cavendish Hotel, on Jermyn Street, St James's, Piccadilly.
Why did Laura receive these tickets? By placing the order for our 100,000th bailer during a campaign which ran on our website during October. At Van Walt we're very proud of our bailers - weighted, hallmarked yet excellent value for money and one of our best selling products.
"We like to do things like this at Van Walt," says Yvonne, sales director. "When you have excellent products, like our bailers, which sell consistently well its nice to have a special target to aim for and, better still, to be able to say 'thanks' to a loyal customer for their continuing business."
Laura and her partner had a wonderful weekend; shopped till they dropped and enjoyed the last night of the show, All About My Mother, before it closes and transfers to Broadway next year.
If you're not a regular visitor to www.vanwalt.com you should be or you may miss our next 'thank-you giveaway' - tickets for two to Barcelona for a weekend!
A word from Laura:
I invited my boyfriend Michael to share the prize with me. During the day we went to the Tate Modern, where in the Turbine Hall was Doris Salcedo's Shibboleth - a surprisingly impressive giant crack in the floor stretching across the entire building. After wandering around the exhibits for a while, we walked along the South Bank to the London Eye and the Houses of Parliament.
We arrived at the hotel just in time to have dinner in the AA Rosette-awarded restaurant and to get ready to go out. The hotel was lovely and our room had a great view from the 12th floor. We took a taxi to the Old Vic for the closing night of 'All About My Mother', an adaptation of the film by Pedro Almodovar. The play was an enjoyable mix of drama and comedy, with themes spanning from transvestitism to classic Hollywood films and everything in between. Afterwards a few drinks brought the curtain down on the night perfectly.
