Prospecting for gold with Loncor in the DRCAs part of the equipment package Vincent went on site, in Yindi, to train the local operatives in the use of our Window Sampling Set to take samples of the saprolite layer necessary in gold exploration. This was no mean feat and involved a helicopter flight with his life in the hands of an Aussie helicopter pilot and crossing several hundred miles of rainforest (see http://www.vanwalt.com/blog/).
The gold exploration camp was wonderful, the hospitality excellent and the commitment of the staff impressive. The operatives quickly got to grips with the new equipment and have reported back since that with the Van Walt system they are getting more meterage than with diamond drillers!
