Soil Sampling - Hand Augers

Over the years many different auger heads have been developed to cope with different soil conditions. We can offer auger heads for coarse sands, sands, normal, stony and hard dry soils. Each type is available in many different diameters. Hand augers are available as one piece models of 125cm length or as two parts which can take extension rods to increase the sampling depth range.

Many accessories are available to facilitate augering and to cope with differing conditions. For your convenience we are able to offer auger sets; one is for drilling above the water table, and the other above and below the water table.

Basic Hand Auger set

Basic Hand Auger set can be used for augerings in heterogeneous soils with several different auger types to cope with a variety of soils to depth of 7 meters.

Ergonomic auger set is for those who hand auger extensively as the handle is designed so that the operator works with a good posture to minimise strains on shoulders, back, arms and wrists.

No-Loss Soil Corer

For the sampling of soils for the analysis of very volatile components such as benzene, toluene and chlorinated hydrocarbons we have introduced a new 'No-loss soil corer' to comply with new regulations and standards that have come into force (USA-EPA Guideline 5035a_r1) or are in (ISO) preparation.
